Description
Pale Purple Coneflower (Echinacea pallida) is a graceful, early-blooming native perennial with slender, drooping pink petals and a bold, spiny seed head. Once prized for its medicinal uses, it’s now a favorite in native gardens and meadows for its striking form and wildlife value.
Blooming from May to July, it grows 2 to 4 feet tall and attracts bees, butterflies, and birds—especially finches, who feed on the seeds. Its sturdy stems and aromatic foliage make it naturally deer-resistant. This drought-tolerant wildflower thrives in full sun and dry soils but will also tolerate medium-dry conditions and light shade.
Native to the Midwestern U.S., Pale Purple Coneflower is a resilient and beautiful addition to any pollinator-friendly planting.
