Description
Tall Coreopsis (Coreopsis tripteris) is a tall, upright native perennial known for its bright yellow daisy-like flowers that bloom from mid to late summer. Mature plants can reach several feet in height, making them a good structural element in prairies and large native plantings. The blooms attract a wide variety of bees and butterflies, and the seeds are occasionally used by birds.
Tall Coreopsis grows best in full sun and tolerates a wide range of soil types, from average garden soils to heavier clay. It prefers medium moisture but is fairly adaptable once established. Because of its height, it works well toward the back of a garden bed or in prairie restorations where tall flowering species are desired.
