Description
Native gardening has never been easier! Designed specifically for beginners, the Beginner No-Stratification Seed Collection seed collection features some of our easiest-to-grow native wildflowers and grasses for pollinator gardens, backyard landscapes, and home gardens.
Unlike many native seeds, the species in this collection do not require cold-moist stratification prior to planting. Simply provide consistent moisture and warm temperatures around 70°F, and germination typically occurs within 15 to 45 days. No refrigeration or complicated seed preparation required. Because these species do not require stratification, they can also be sown in summer or planted throughout much of the year.
Selected for their beauty, reliability, and pollinator value, these species provide seasonal color and important nectar and habitat resources for bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other beneficial pollinators. The Beginner No-Stratification Seed Collection also makes a perfect gift for those interested in native plants but unsure where to start.
Contains 7 individual seed packets and covers approximately 40 square feet when planted together.
This collection includes:
- Purple Prairie Clover (Dalea purpurea)
- Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea)
- Lemon Mint (Monarda citriodora)
- Black-eyed Susan (Rudbeckia hirta)
- Little Bluestem (Schizachyrium scoparium)
- Sky Blue Aster (Symphyotrichum oolentangiense)
- Plains Coreopsis (Coreopsis tinctoria)
