Description
Common Yarrow (Achillea millefolium), also known simply as yarrow, is a tough and adaptable native wildflower known for its feathery foliage and flat clusters of small white flowers. The fern-like leaves add soft texture to the landscape, while the broad flower clusters create a landing pad for many pollinators.
Blooming throughout the summer, Common Yarrow attracts bees, butterflies, and a wide variety of beneficial insects. Its long bloom period and drought tolerance make it a dependable plant for pollinator gardens and naturalized landscapes.
Common Yarrow thrives in full sun and prefers well-drained soils, including sandy or rocky sites. Once established, it is very drought tolerant and requires little maintenance. It works well in prairie plantings, wildflower meadows, and restoration projects where resilience and pollinator value are important.
