Description
Purple Love Grass (Eragrostis spectabilis) is a hardy, low-growing native grass perfect for dry, sunny landscapes. Growing 1 to 2 feet tall, it thrives in poor soils, full sun, and even beneath Black Walnut trees.
In mid-summer, it produces airy purple seed heads that mature into a soft, purplish-pink haze—creating a unique, shimmering effect in late-season landscapes. Drought-tolerant and deer-resistant, this ornamental grass is ideal for rock gardens, xeriscapes, and wildflower borders. It also supports local biodiversity as a host plant for the Zabulon Skipper butterfly.
A beautiful, low-maintenance addition to any native garden.
