Description
Canada Wildrye (Elymus canadensis) is an intermediate‑height, cool‑season perennial bunchgrass found throughout much of the United States. It establishes quickly, tolerates light shade, and is commonly seen along streambanks, ditches, and in prairies, where it provides valuable food and cover for wildlife.
Growing up to 5 feet tall, it makes an excellent native cover crop since it’s often outcompeted by other grasses and wildflowers over time.
