Description

The Rain Garden native seed mix is designed for low-lying areas and wet soils where water naturally collects. These moisture-loving species tolerate periodic flooding while also withstanding drier intervals, making this mix an ideal choice for stormwater management, erosion control, and pollinator habitat creation.

Featuring vibrant forbs such as Swamp Milkweed and Blue Flag Iris, paired with deep-rooted grasses and sedges, this mix provides both beauty and function. The forbs deliver seasonal color and nectar for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, while the grasses and sedges stabilize soil, filter runoff, and reduce erosion.

Thriving in full to partial sun and wet to mesic soils, the Rain Garden mix works well in rain gardens, bioswales, retention areas, and other designed landscapes that manage stormwater naturally. With time, it develops into a resilient, low-maintenance planting that enhances water quality and biodiversity.

For stormwater sites that dry out more quickly between rains, consider our Dry Detention Basin Mix as an alternative option.

PLS stands for Pure Live Seed — an industry standard measure of seed quality. It reflects the percentage of seed in a batch that are capable of germinating.

We want you to get exactly what you pay for. Many companies sell bulk seed that includes non-viable seeds and filler. By pricing based on PLS, we ensure you’re getting the highest quality native seed with predictable results and successful germination.
