Description
Rose Turtlehead (Chelone obliqua) is a wetland-loving perennial known for its dense spikes of rosy pink flowers and rich green foliage. Blooming from late summer through frost, it attracts native bees and the occasional hummingbird, offering vibrant color when many other plants are fading.
Native to streambanks and moist lowlands, this herbaceous plant grows 30 to 48 inches tall and spreads by rhizomes, forming sturdy colonies. It prefers full sun to medium shade and thrives in moist to wet soils, making it a standout in rain gardens, water gardens, and along pond edges.
Deer-resistant and low maintenance, Rose Turtlehead adds late-season interest to native gardens and perennial borders alike.
